- what is this wire plug for? fuse? I don't see the other half of this wire.

- this red fuse plug is weird, half of the tube is exposed? not sure if I can start the motor?

Will try new gas tomorrow to start it up

Some one just put in a fuse that is way too long.----Get the right one from a dealer or any automotive store.-------20 amp and about 5/8" lomg.

Finally started my motor after getting my fuel primer bulb to work and started the motor yesterday after I cleaned the fuel filter, sprayed some starting fluid into the carb - check out this nice Johnson 90hp motor - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=muBoTyqWlO8

2 challenges with my 90hp Johnson outboard - please help! Thanks.

1. need to replace the tilt tube (rod) - totally rusted - I cleaned it but i still cannot push the steering cable through. So, I want to replace it with a stainless tube. How do I loosen the rusted lock nut on the port (left) side of the motor?
