Replacing motor

How hard is it to replace a motor in a boat and its a inboard Mercruiser and this is my first time what steps should i take and if this already been answered sorry and what is the link

Ayuh,.. You don't give Near enough Info,....

But,.. Generally speaking,...
Pull the Outdrive...
Pull the motor,...
Reinstall the new motor,..
Reinstall the Drive...

The boat is a 1992 Renken and im puting a 1987 3.0 mercruiser in the boat at the moment the boat has a 1990 3.0 mercruiser in it is all the stuff the same on the old motor then the newer one because i have alot of stuff that is new on the old motor and will all the wiring be the same... i think its a 1990 might be newer

Go up to the Adults Only sticky at the top of this forum, and download a couple of service manuals.
Engine manuals are #10 and 13 for your different years. There are wiring diagrams you can compare. Also has R&R instructions in section 2 of each
Also get manual #6 for your outdrive.

when i go to view the manual it just keeps loading and nothing never pops up ??

#10 is 150MB. Give it time.
Best bet is to right click the link and save it to your desktop. Then open it.

Ayuh,... Then store it in your documents,. And burn it onto a disc..... ;)

yeah in a couple of minutes going to go out there with my dad and going to take off the outdrive off the new motor Im putting in the boat.. Aint going to keep the outdrive due to it looking really crappy and all cracked

i would keep the other drive for parts you would be surprised what even a small part would cost you

got the outdrive off but feel on my butt doing it going to take the other motor off the boat keep you guys updated if i need any help
