I have a 97 Johnson 150 Ficht and need to replace the power distribution panel. The top connector has a screw which is spinning away doing nothing- is it ok to grab hold of it with pliers and rip it out or is there a hidden nut spinning away as well?
Thanks
David

What, a 100 views and no replies? I really wrenched on it last night, no joy. I'm thinking of cutting the base of it off but I'm history if I damage the connector.

Do you have an OEM factory service manual ?? If not, go to shop.evinrude.com and look up the parts diagrams there and you may get some info.

Yes I have OEM manuals, not real clear though. Hey Boobie, last weeks post on the tilt/trim motor- you were right it has only 2 wires. I was concerned after replacing the motor that it still only worked intermittently with some snaps and crackles coming from said panel but when I ordered a replacement I was told the repair shop had recently had exactly the same problem and had to replace both so that made me feel better.
cheers

When you say PDP are you talking about the one with all the fuses and relays in or something to do with the tilt/trim ??
