Replacing reeds

1983 Merc 150 When replacing reeds, should the reed blocks be replaced too. Or can they be resurfaced using 400 grit sandpaper on a piece of glass?

Inless there are major gouges, we clean then up

They will clean up great doing as you suggest, I just went through it. Use a generous amount of WD-40 and 400 grit paper designed to be used with water. You will be so surprised to actually find out how "NOT FLAT these can be. I ran them accross some 600 when I had them flat.
