I recently bent one of my tips on a good fishing rod. I need to replace it. Would like some ideas on what to fasten the tip on the rod with.

Re: Replacing rod tips

Hi Bubbkat,

I take mine to Walmart, the guy at the sporting desk did it for me. It cost 2 bucks. They have an assortment of different sizes of tips.....SS

By the way Bubbakat, I had to change the alternator on my truck. It took care of the problem. Its the rectifier/diode block that is going bad. On my old plymouth van I bought the diode assy for about 12 bucks and changed it myself. The newer dodges, I'm not sure about.

Good luck SS

I agree, take to a place that does it for the little amount that it cost. Generally speaking they scrape , sand and heat the area {match, lighter} and usaully stick it on with hot glue.
When my plastic tips break I have them put a good metal one on.

Re: Replacing rod tips

Thanks guys for the tips ( :D ) I came in and read the replies and went straight to wal-mart and the guy said no problem. Then he proceeded to repair it. Removed the old one and replaced with ceramic eye made by lakers and when thru charged me three bucks and I was happy as a lark. thanks

BTW thanks SS figured it was the alt so I am going to take it to the dodge house tomorrow for a diag. maybe they will know. If it turns out to be alt I will take it off and hAVE IT rebuilt
