Replacing steering cable

My steering cable seems to be suffering from exposure. It takes two hands on the wheel and too much effort to turn it. It worked really well the summer of 04 and I hardly used the boat last year. I disconnected each end independently and the problem seems to be in the cable. It is a Teleflex rack & pinion circa 1990. The previous owner had the cable replaced once before. I've found a Uflex replacement cable roughly half the price of the Teleflex. It is supposed to be a direct replacement. Does anybody have experience with Uflex?

Ask Realgun, he has used Uflex products. I have a Uflex brand steering wheel. Works just like it should. Fits the Teleflex rotary head just as it should.

If they claim it fits, it probably does.
