Hi everyone, does anyone know anything about replacing the metal framing around the windshield? I'm getting pitting and corrosion and figured it would be worth looking into for the future. It's a 22' Grady White CC. Maybe some websites or something....any help is appreciated!! Thanks!!

Flat glass Bondo. It's not in really bad shape but it could look nicer. Not sure what can be done to clean it up. I took the snaps off today and thats where the problem is. The salt got behind the snaps and caused some corosion. Ideally I would like to be able to clean it up and get that shine back. Not sure what kind of metal it is. I know stainless you can shine back but this is another story I'm thinkin. Any input is appreciated!!

Windshield frames are difficult to come by.

I'm guessing Grady White doesn't have it if it isn't a newer boat but it might be worth a call.

You might also see if iboats can get you a frame...though it doesn't appear that many sizes are available:
http://www.iboats.com/boat-windshields/

Good luck and let us know how things go!

Hi Ants, I just recently did the same thing, on a 20ft Proline Center console. What I did was take out all plexi (obv), sand/grind down to smooth, primered well and then painted (spray black-flat) and then spray varnish (high gloss), came out great I think. Hopefully this will help your project, but not sure.

/r
scuda
