Replacing VRO with non VRO Fuel Pump

I removed my original VRO Fuel Pump today and replaced it with a non VRO Johnson/ Evenrude/ OMC replacement unit. The engine is a 1996 vintage OMC Turbojet 115.
The new fuel pump by-passes the pulse limiter hose and bolts right to the block. I pluged the Pulse Limiter intake when I hooked up the fuel pumpt directly to the block. The fuel intake and supply lines are obvious. My curious question is, what does the other 1/4" line that runs from the VRO to the block do? Do I plug it? Do I leave it as a vent? Or do I tee it into the other 1/4" lines that run to the bearings???? Also, this is not the oil line that goes to the oil tank (thats was long ago disconnected and plugged), it ran from the VRO to the block and attached to a nipple via a nylon hose clamp.
Thanks for any thoughts.

Not familiar with the VRO's too much, last one I took off was on an 80's vintage. It had 4 hoses. Took out the oil supply, reused fuel in/out, and plugged the vacuum pulse.

That is a cutaway but it shows the hoses very well. Do you have another hose in addition to those? If so where did it connect?

(I'm sure someone else will chime in with more knowledge on VRO's)

The hose is actually a 5/32" fuel grade hose and it looks like it vented into the fuel pumps canister (I assume a fire rated enclosure???). I just don't know if I should just let it vent in to engine bay, cap ot off, or vent it somewhere else?
Thanks,
Troy
