Re: replacing water pump impeller

does this setup have the power i need to pull a tube or maybe a skiier?

I had that motor in a 20 aluminum boat( spectrum) and at one time I pulled5 tubes at once. I pulled 3 tubes all the time

Nothing. The 140hp IS a 3 litre engine...

It will all depend on how the boat is propped. Over prop any engine in any boat and it will be a dog.

What you need to do it to run the boat (without pulling skier or tube) and find out what revs you're making at Wide Open Throttle (WOT). It should be in the range 4200 to 4600. I like to aim for the upper end of the range (and a little over the top is nothing to be worried about). If it's low you need to change to a prop LOWER in pitch. Each 2" of pitch will change the engine speed by about 400rpm. Once you have the right prop for 'normal' operation and you want to go skiing/tubing, put a prop on that is another 2" LOWER in pitch. If you like the skiing and tubing and will be doing quite a lot, consider a ventilated prop, like the Laser II or High 5....

Try it and find out. We aren't you and can't feel how the boat acts. We aren't there.
