I am going to attempt to do this my self. I was just wandering if any of you here might have some suggestions on any do's and don'ts. It doesn't seem that it will be that hard, but if it can go wrong it usually does when I try mechanics work. Thanks for any help: James

Make sure the engine is in neutral when you pull the lower unit and then leave the shift-shaft alone so you don't get the LU and powerhead out of synch.

It's not a hard job. I have the same engine. Just take your time and make sure to have a clean work space. Taking pictures as you work helps. It gives you a little confidence that if you forget how things go together you can always go back to the pics. A factory manual is extremely helpful.

If you're keeping the pump housing but replacing the impeller a little dish soap helps getting the new impeller into the housing. Make sure to note the rotation-orientation of the existing impeller so you can duplicate it when putting the new impeller in place.
