replacing water tubes on a evinrude 115

I am replacing water pump but I cannot figure out how to pull off old water tubes running to the motor from the pump can anyone help?

Bumper..... If you're speaking about removing the copper water tubes, believe me.... you don't want to do that unless absolutely necessary!<br /><br />The water tube(s) are secured to the bottom portion of the adapter plate that the powerhead bolts to. In order to replace them, it's necessary to remove the lower unit, the powerhead, the center portion (exhaust housing) from the swivel bracket assy, then remove the adapter plate. Then, and only then can you remove the water tube(s).<br /><br />Curious... why would you want to remove that item?

the copper water tubes are all smashed it looks like whoever had it before was not to carefull aligning pump. thanks for the info.

Bumper..... I've encountered that before, and it's a case of "Well, I can't hurt them so I'll do this" type scenario.<br /><br />And what I have done in such a case (if the tube(s) have been shoved upwards) is to grab the tube with long nose pliers or a small pair of vice grips, then reach up inside of the exhaust housing with a strong flat piece of steel (such as a tire iron etc) to a point where the tube curves/bends. I apply pressure to the curve/bend while pulling the tube downwards (I have been lucky so far).<br /><br />If you're able to drag that tube down to where it belongs, then it can be rounded out by carefully going around it with a pair of long nose pliers. If successful, it saves a lot of work.

luckily it worked, I used a pair of needle nose and bent them back to where I could slide over the guides. now only if I can get everything back together by the weekend.
