Replacing Wires to the battery

I will be replacing the batteries on my boat in the next few days and saw the wires were in bad shape.

Are these wires marine grade or marine specific? They look exactly like the positive and negative wires from an automobile and I was wondering if I could just pick up the wires in a auto store.

Thank you in advance for your reply.

They are usually standard copper stranded wire. However, before installing them, I would add a little grease to any exposed copper and seal with appropriate heat shrink tubing prior to install.

Marine-grade cable is available, and is definitely worth considering if you boat in saltwater.
