What is best material to use?? boat will be stored inside but will probobly get wet now and then. How about OSB (oriented strand board) like the sheathing on home construction, with a good sealer applied. I will finish it by gluing some marine vinyl & I think that alone would protect the wood better than carpeting. I would like some expert opinions.Have seen the treated warp and I dont know what "marine grade" wood actually is. I have a budget on this project.. Thanks

Nope, OSB has no place on a Boat! NONE! Use Ext. Grade Plywood or Underlayment. Both use 100% waterproof glue in their lams. You SHOULD use Polyester Resin and 1.5oz Chopped Strand Mat (CSM) to seal the wood. If you don't use that then I'd recommend using 2-3 coats of this to seal it...

If you decide to NOT use the resin and glass at LEAST get some epoxy and coat the edges of the plywood with it. That is the First place water will try to attack your deck. Again if you want the deck to LAST for a Long time you SHOULD coat it with Resin and CSM.
