repower question

i am repowering a 77 cobia tradewinds. she just has something about her. i pulled the omc 4cyl stringer 400 out. it was shot and i am looking to install. a omc 5.0 cobra i picked up. anything i should or consider. how do you center something like that.

With a Tape Measure,+ String lines.......
And,....
Lots of Measurements

It's the Keel Line that Matters,.......

Honestly if it was me I'd center the OMC in the dumpster and use the existing transom hole to center a replacement Mercruiser engine.

If you're going to the trouble to repower, why not use a drive system you can get parts for?

good point but i have the unit it runs great works perfect. plus there are plenty of cobra parts availble.
