Re: Repowering 23' with 2-75 hp 4strokes
You can check the opening page of "I Boats" click on outboards for sale. or check on line. Duals are nice, but I have found that most problems I have encountered were fuel related, so unless you have seperate fuel tanks, filled from different stations, if one engine developed a problem the other was soon to follow. Also as I said before one 150 HP weighs less, rigs easier, runs cheaper, & will get you more speed than 2 75 HP motors. I know you said speed is not an issue, but it is nice to have when you need it, & I never heard anyone complain they can go too fast. You will see when you load the boat with fishing gear coolers, ice, food, fuel, passengers, etc. you may want more HP than you have. The direct injected 2 strokes are pertty clean, & pretty efficent engines. So look around, don't be drawn in by the 4 stroke hype, they're good, but not the end all of engines. Shop, make phone calls, go to dealers, look on line. It's that time of year, end of season, they are stuck with inventory, & high gas prices, keeping people away, But you will never be stuck with your money! Go look, Have Fun, Talk to lots of folks, SHOP. Good Luck, Joe
