I have been lurking on these forums for a while reading threads from time to time, however I cannot seem to find any direct answers to this by searching so I figured I make a thread.

I am looking to repower my '72 Crestliner (16 ft deep v). The motor that is currently on it is a 1972 evinrude 100 hp crossflow V4 without power tilt and trim. The boat is rated to a 125 hp. I do not want to put new holes in my transom, so I am trying to stick to Evinrude/Johnson crossflow V4 setups when I do searches in craiglist etc.

A good deal just popped up local to me on a 120 Johnson loopcharged V4 with power tilt and trim. I realize the loopcharged V4s weigh about 60 pounds or so more than the equivalent crossflow OMC V4. Anyways, I was curious if anyone knew if the transom bolt pattern for such an engine is the same as my current engine. Also, does anyone know if I am actually limited to the evinrude/ johnson V4s if I want to reuse the same bolt holes? I thought I had read on here a while ago that most outboard manufacturers had standardized their bolt pattern at some point, but I cannot seem to find that thread.

Thanks
