Looking for opinions.<br /><br />I have a 1985 Wellcraft 248 Offshore. The hull is solid and the boat is in good shape. It is currently powered by a 1989 Johnson 225 (about 40 hours since rebuild). This engine runs well and pushes the boat WOT @ 35 mph, cruises at 4000 RPM at 29 mph.<br /><br />I have an opportunity to repower with what I beieve to be an very good deal. Twin yamaha 150's (2000) hung with new guages and controls for $12,500. Boat is only rated for 300hp.<br /><br />My concern is I only paid $6500 for the boat and I know I could get that out of it easy. If I spend another $12,500 I now have $19K in a 1985 boat. Even with the new power I'm not sure what the boat would be worth after the repower. Not planning on selling, but always would like to know I could if I needed to.<br /><br />Any words of wisdom. :confused
