Hi everyone,

I am repowering after blowing my engine last year. I have a 20ft Proline Center Console and had a 200hp Johnson, albeit a 1985 and prob running on 4 cylinders before it blew.

I am going to look at a 1999 130hp Johnson today. My question is is this enough power for me? What kind of speed should I expect? It was a tough search because I need a 20 inch shaft.

Thanks!

Re: Repowering Question

130 is not a lot of hp for a 20 ft boat and if you were running a 200 and you are a normal person YOU WILL NOT BE HAPPY WITH LESS POWER.

HTH.

Mark

Re: Repowering Question

Thanks Mark. I think that with the engine I had, which ran real bad, and I think was running on 4 cylinders at best, that this will be faster but I hear what you are saying.

I just want something to pull my 14 yr old daughter skiing and I fish.

Thanks!
