I have a 86 Grady White offshore 24' currently has one outboard engine. I am looking to put 2 on. Where can I find out what length the outdrive requiered?
Well finding out what I have is one thing.
Being that the boat is a deep V I think the engine I have now will have a shaft that is too long because once I move it over it will be deeper in the water and will cause a lot of spray and drag.
So the question really is, how do I find out what the boat requiers for a dual setup VS a single setup.

You are right, you do not need as much length when you move them to the side, but the lew length will be less than 5" difference, so you compensate by mounting the engines higher on the transom.
