I have a 1993 19 foot key west. The 1992 evinrude 115 m# E115TLEND burnt a piston. I found a 1989 Yamaha M#l130ETXF. Compression Read
116-115
100-110
two questions

1 I think the yam is a 25" shaft and I know the Evin is a 20" for sure. Will the Yam work on my boat?

2 Are these compression readings within tolerance? ( the numbers are in position of the cylinders)

Can't comment on the compression readings but I can say you for sure don't want a long shaft motor on a short shaft boat. You can go with a jack plate but those aren't exactly cheap so I'd keep looking.

Re: repowering

Find a talented amateur or rebuild it yourself if you are handy and have time. It will be well worth it rather than buying another unknown engine with an equal possibility of failure.

Compression readings sound low for an engine that size and at 15 pounds difference between cylinders, they are right on the edge of acceptable. I would not consider that particular engine.
