i pulled my boat this morning from the river, to replace the engine. have a new mercruiser 383 mag motor sitting on the shop floor, complete bobtail, replacing a 97 merc 260 non vortec carb motor. I noticed the prop had a chunck out of 2 blades,,,, its an alum bravo 2. i am planning on buying a SS 4 blade after getting the new engine running. should I get the alum prop repaired first, or go ahead and guess on a SS setup? thanks to all on this post

Repair the aluminum one. You will probably have to change size for the more powerfull engine anyway. No sense spending money on a SS prop till you know what size you need.
