I bought a project boat last year 20' tri hull bowrider,250 ci L6 Chev Mercruiser 165 with i think a r series drive with the trim and limit senders on the inside of the transom, the trim sender was in the hydralic line
Located a second hand MC1 drive form a blown 470 replaced the R series so I now have the senders external, used the original gear boxes to keep the 1.65 ratio, transom was good, tidied up the bearers and under floor area, new floor new insruments and panel.
All has gone well and we are back in the water for the summer in OZ,the boat had the Bayliner name on it,however I do not think this is correct and am trying to find out what it is,this forum has been a great help during the rebuild thans Don S,Bondo and all the others,I think it was built in the late 70's or early 80's
I will try to post some pix

Re: Tri Hull

It has the same lines as my '76 Bay. Cept the windshield is missing. Most of the Bayliners from that era had Penta power but I don't think Mercruiser power was unheard of. Cool boat!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the quick replies,I think the previous owner must have got the BL name from some where, when i bought it it had a coat of blue enamel sprayed on it and the BL name was done in stick on plastic which I removedback to the gelcoat which had been sanded too much to restore it now has a coat of marine polyurethene close to the original color.
It also had a windscreen,I was told on another forum that BL never used welded bow rails,76 would be around the right era

Re: Tri Hull

Does the small side glass have a B etched into it? What is the HIN?

The side panel had no B etched on it.The HIN AUWW A019515C06, I saw on your PB album no 21,22, the supports on the bow rail have a T bracket not welds,on the windscreen the supports look the same, and on the walkthru the side panels have the same profile

I have just found the HIN no AU-WWA-019515C06 was issued to this boat in OZ in 2006 where the boat was prior to this remains a mystery,as does the make, the Austrailian Waterways are not very reponsive to enquiries,I am fairly certain it was built 70 to 80's i.e. motor, hull etc
