This Holiday was a family boat that was left in a feild in Colorado for 10+ years uncoverd! Everything in the boat was rotteed and replaced... I mean everything. It had 100 or more holes in it that needed to be welded. The trailer was rusted through and was also restored. Have a look! :)

That is a fine looking Starcraft! That 4 stroke looks mighty sweet hanging off the back of that thing. Question - Are you seeing any flexing in that transom? Your giving me ideas.

Badge of merit for that one. Whats in the box in the back?I bought a 16 SS last may that was the same way. I can relate to the hours spent and the very few dollars to rebuild- LOL. looks great

Hey, Thanks! Your Starcraft was what inspired me to paint my Holiday red and white with a red racing stripe. I could not have it look exactly like yours... ;)

I am not seeing any flexing. In the interior transom pic you can see I used a huge piece of hard 5/16" aluminum to add support. It has lots of surface area; hopefully, it has strengthened up the transom.

Badge of merit for that one. Whats in the box in the back?I bought a 16 SS last may that was the same way. I can relate to the hours spent and the very few dollars to rebuild- LOL. looks great

I made the box to hold the battery and charger. The gas tank is under the bow. I also added a piano hinge so it can be tilted up, also has a padded top so someone could sit on it.

I am currently breaking in the motor, so I have not been able to push it full throttle. I will let you know soon. These old Starcrafts are very light! I imagine it will push high 30's or more?

That paint job is worth at least 3-5 extra MPH at WOT

My guess on the Honda 4 stroke and the boat will be in the low to mid 40s those Hondas really push you across the water.

Nicely done! I had the exact same boat and now have a 1987 Medalist 1901. What happened to the splashwell in the stern?

I kept mine in the boat, did a full resto like you did and stuck a Johnson 90hp VRO on the back. The thing would do 55mph. It took alot of transom work to take the oversized motor though. Mine had a complete aluminum transom made for it. I should dig up some pics and show it to you.

What a great lookin rig. I'm impressed! Have you had any issues with water coming in due to not having a spashwell? I'm rebuilding mine and have been giving some serious thought into not having a spashwell.
