The floor was rotted nicely, so wet that the fiberglass would peal off easy

Are cracks hard to repair there are a couple like this one around the cap, this is the worst out of all of them. I might have to glass the whole top cap has anyone done that before???

Re: Restoring 1969 Sears ss tri hull boat

Been doing some work on the motor, this is going to cost me the most I think out of the whole project. I may have to get professional help on the motor.

Pulled off the carb today, it's really clean but has the old cork float still.

Neat looking boat. Will be a head turner when you're done. Definitely a big project but I don't think you're up against anything some of the other members here haven't already tackled. I'm sure you've done your homework already (threads by chrishayes, drewpster, bigred, lowkee, etc.) Good luck with it!

Re: Restoring 1969 Sears ss tri hull boat

First off I love the boat!! I would love to see some side pics if possible:D
I am not going to be much help with the fiberglass issues as I am tackling my first restore myself, however I can help with the side panels for your boat. My mark twain that I am in the process of restoring had shaped pieces of plywood that fit right in to the form of the boat and they were screwed on at the cap. The wood was covered in foam on the outside and then vinyl. It looks pretty good considering the condition of the boat when brought home. I provided the link to my restore-thread so you can get a vague idea of what I am attempting to explain:D

Thanks for the help, I was thinking it was missing something like your boat has the fishing rod cubbyholes. I'll try to fabricate something. Here is a side shot and back shot for you.

The cap removed and hull supported

The cap in the back yard, so much damage on the cap it will need a full fiberglass make over

The floor out and cleaned up. This wasn't that bad of a job not easy but not hard. This my first boat ever and I have never repaired anything like this before, just a little motivation for any green horns out there.

Working on the transom now, this part sucks but again not difficult.

Not a bad day, got lots done today oh yeah registered the boat in my name today too. A lot easier then I thought, didn't have original owner ship just a home made receipt and my drivers license and the boat is in my name now and cost me nothing to do it.
