Hello all. Hope the new year is treating everyone great. I just bought this boat. The interior has all been removed and was stored in the cabin. I'm in Illinois so cant work on it till spring but I got it home, all the interior in side, all the water and trash vacuumed out of it and ready to work on it this spring. Some one already put the floor in, Not screwed down just placed in. I lifted the floor and seen that they reinforced the stringer. Good I'm thinking. I understand that when I put the floor down I have to glaze it. With what I don't know. So any help on that question would be well taken. Next When it comes to putting the interior back together is there any were I can go to get like a build sheet on that boat. There is a ton of wood that goes somewhere. Or would I be better off taking it to a professional and have them do it. I'm going to try and post a pick of my project and keep in mind this is my very first restore. And the engine and outdrive is A OK, I just need to figure out why the tilt and trim won't work but I can handle that. Hope to talk to all of you in the coming months. Chris

HAy Chris, cool boat , she will be great when you get done with her !!

Ok on the stringers , you got me scared , did they just add suport or did they just put new wood over the old stringer??

any kind of poly on the boards will work , i used polyuerathane on mine at least 3 coat 4 is better !!

On all the wood i dont know of any plans for your ride some one else might , but i dought it , and taking it some where is going to cost you some big bucks , couple grand !! I would really think about doing it on your self !!

if you can get some pics and we can all help more !! John

It was a piece of wood ran along side the stringer. so it is eather more support or Come to think of it now It may be used to build up the side so you have that cuvy between the fiberglass and plywood. I'm looking all over the Internet and downloading any pictures of this boat I can find. I think it will be a real classic that is why I want to do it right. And if it cost a couple grand, I have my 19 foot cuddy I can sell for the money to do it as I got this boat unbelievably cheap.

chris it dont sound right ,on the stringers , when they put wood next to the old stringers it is usally cause the stringers are rotting !!! I really do think you need to look at them some more , how it the transom ?? if the stringers are done right they dont need any suport ... i would hate to see you do this again in a few years cause they are rotton !!!!!

Yep keep searching the web, on my glastron there is a web sight of the old ones , but on my 68 crownline i cant find anything !!

Ok can you get some pics up of the stringers and we should be able to tell you more !!! John

OK, It's supposed to be in the 40's Friday Ill pull the floor up and post the pictures. The transom seems to be good. I did notice a cross peace of plywood about mid engine Starboard side that is rotten but the other side looked good. I'll get the pictures friday.

OK, I gotcha John. And I do want to do this right cause I think the boat is a classic so the game plan will be Look tomorrow, post the pics, If it all needs to come out I'll take the boat to a mechanic and MAKE Sure the engine is good which I would be very surprised if it was'nt and have them tune it up if it is. Then Do the Stringers and go from there, I priced carpet Vinyl and seats yesterday so I have a Idea there. I'll see ya tomorrow John on here. Chris

Hay chris just thought of this i dont remember if you said you did any core samples any where ?? where you take a drill bit and check the transom , just tape it off at 3/4 of a inch to one inch and drill up to the tape and see what the piece that come out look like !! John

The center cross member and then there is another cross member on starboard side about middle engine. I think I just replace those and I'm good.
