Re: Restoring 1981 Penn Yan

The original Penn Yan company is long gone. Does your boat have the tunnel hull system or is it an outboard version. I have a 20.5' PY Explorer outboard that is a great boat.

The people at this site live and breath PY boats. If it is a tunnel hull boat, definitely check with these guys before any mechanical work is done. While the PYs look simple mechanically, they were specifically engineered and you need to understand what the nuances are. Once you do, anyone can do the work.

Good luck with the project,
