Restoring clear (Eisenglass) plastic?

The Eisenglass (clear plastic) in the camper top of the boat I just got is a bit cloudy. There are a few products on the market that claim to restore the clarity .... does anyone have experience with the various products?

.....no experience with the commercial products but I restored the 'clearness' of my Dakota headlights by applying plain 'ol white Colgate toothpaste and rubbing with a soft cloth until the paste started to drag on the cloth: turned the cloth over and buffed clean. After several applications my lenses now look new (it's a '99). I now wax the lenses each time I do the body.
The father-in-law came over the other day with his hazed-over Volvo headlights. In ten minutes I had one lense showroom new.....I sent him home to do the other.
