Someone suggested using 3M #9005 to restore the gelcoat on fiberglass boats. Well, I bought some and used it this afternoon and now it looks new again. Unbelievable what this stuff can do. I recommend it highly, it works! I don't remember who mentioned this stuff, buy I sure thank'em, who ever it was.

Sounds good! what is it called, how much does it cost, where did you get it, and how did you use it? :D

I really need to fix up the gelcoat on mine, particularly towards the bottom

Mark

Re: Restoring gelcoat

I got the info. from this site, I wish I knew who posted it. I looked at the 3M homepage which led to several dealers. On-line it sells between 13-14 bucks. I found it at Wal-mart for 8+change. Just follow the instructions. You rub it in till it's gone, or use a buffer. It goes on like wax, but has a little grit to it. It takes a lot of work, but it does do the job. My boats gelcoat was a blue/gray speckle and was extremely dull, now it looks new. keep in mind, the more you work it in, the better it will look. Good luck.
