yeah, a 60 or 70 would push that along nice. shouldn't be too hard to find a good motor.

I am brand new to this sight and am just beginning to plan doing the floor on my 1978 14 ft peterborough. Can you tell me the best way to check my transom so I don't waste my time starting the floor only to find a rotted transom. The interior side of the transom has a rubberized, black coating on it so I have always assumed it would be isolated from the floor rot.Keep the pictures coming guys they are going to be a great asset in doing my project

Heh guys, a word about pulling the top cap off when doing this - I learned the hard way....you need to watch you do not get "spread" That is, I build a cradle when I did mine to hold the hull shape, but did not realize the sides may sag a little. I have enough added re-enforcement it should be OK, definately not going to let go, but it can look a little off if you know what to look for and it places a little more stress on the side seams etc. At the bottom is the link to the pix of mine from a couple years ago- '72 Kennedy Aquarian. I didn't need that much power but got a deal and besides, I plan to re-do a 16' Kenndy Marlin next year, funds willing. It looks a little nicer I think now that I painted the bottom part of the hull white as well (not showing in these pix)

Cheers,

Mark (Markham, ON)

Nice job TallC. I looked at it at wor today. The trihulls are easy to find, economical to buy, and solid. Versitile too. Your 45 really runs nice, tops out great too by the look of the narrow wake in the video. One thing I learned from my project is weight balance...I have too much in the back end but heh, next year will be a different hull !

Cheers bro,

Mark

I too have this same boat. I need to redo the floor in mine but on a good note I got it free from the kijiji classifieds back in the late summer. I am new to this style of work but my carpentry skills are good. I just need someone to tell/show me pics of what I need to do to redo the floor. I cant wait to take her out.
