Re: Restoring the LOST PERL 103'

Somebody posted a link to the boat that was stern heavy off the "trailer" here just a few weeks ago. The site was in French, the sponsons had been added, she was fully engaged in a Charter biz, I think in Quebec . . . Actually looked pretty good now.

Re: Restoring the LOST PERL 103'

Yesterday I finish all the cabinet doors for the upper cabinets and most of the doors for the lower ones. My girlfriend came by today and ask why are you working on the master stateroom and not finishing the lower cabinets in the galley, I told her it was the cold coming and I wanted to seal some things in the bedroom and she tried to tell me it was my OCD. I said they both have to be done does it really matter that I make it all come together at the same time. At least Tim and Bill were working on the outside.

The problem with this thread is, I start having crazy thoughts. Like if Capt. Mike can restore a 103' boat then I should be able to handle a little 42 footer.

Sure if you have done a boat restoration before you should be able to do that as long as you enjoy being single, have no social time for yourself, willing to put up with a bunch of idiots, don't mind being broke, ruffing it becomes a way of life, being cast out and made to feel like you are a idiot by everyone.

But if you can deal with all of this and more when you are done everyone will think you are the greatest....(and i caution the word done)

a 42 is a fun project....just thing of all the new stuff you will learn.......stuff like ....how to bend your arms like they were not supposed to be bent.
how to squeeze your body between a deck frame and a motor while trying to reach a bad fuse that is juuuust out of reach !

She's sweet, Capt. Mike.

You got me thinking about marble and cherry wood on my Lakesport, LOL!

Do you have any ongoing work on the engines, electrics, or other systems of the craft that are ongoing?

Cheers!

WOW! Repowered before you got 'er. Great.

I went to your blog and browsed your albums and the history of the boat.

The engines look great. Is that one of those "V" drive gear boxes on the end of that motor, and a stuffing box under the crankcase, that I see?

Re: Restoring the LOST PERL 103'

This is the forward part of the upper salon. I thought I would share some photos of work from the 12/23/11. It is one step as a time. I got the head liner in yesterday and hope to do the trim today on the 26th. I have a party on the 12/30/11 and the 31st at downtown Nashville TN.
