I was doing some research on how much an 04 Starcraft Pro Elite 1800 is worth. I looked it up on the NADA guide and it stated it was somewhere around $8800. I thought this was considerably low and this includes the price of the outboard. I have only seen one boat like this listed on the internet and it was a 2000 they where asking $17,000. I local dealer has the 2004 for sale at $14,000. The boat comes with a cover, trolling motor, a 115hp Mecury OPTIMAX outboard. The boat is 18.5' long with a 99" beam. This boat would be perfect but i don't want to overspend. Does any dealer or anyone currently have one of these boats for sale where they could give me accurate pricing to see where i should come in at on the offer?

It is worth whatever someone will pay for it/what they will sell it for. Problem with boats is that unlike a car you can't find 30 of the same model within a 20 mile radius.

FWIW the Nada value seems reasonable, considering you are talking about a 9 year old boat with a fairly small outboard.

Yeah unfortunately NADA is pretty worthless. Your best bet is looking at comparable boats for sale locally. Don't focus on a "Starcraft Pro Elite". That's too specific and not likely to yield much in the way of useable results. Look at all aluminum boats of a similar size, layout, and power.

oldjeep, I was going to agree with you on the 115 being on the small side but I looked up Pro Elite and it looks to be an aluminum boat. That's good power for a tinnie. $14k does sound on the high side though but probably not terribly so if the boat is in excellent condition.

Boat prices are pretty specific to region. Here for example the 5-10yr old boat market is just about completely dry.....they even had a newspaper article in the Milwaukee paper the other week about how bad the used market is. That has brought prices up, and private party sellers are asking a premium. As others have said, look for similar boats and see how they are priced. That will give you a good idea of how well what you are looking at is priced.

For example, I have been boat shopping for 3 or 4 months now for a 5-10yr old 16-17ft aluminum boat with 90+hp and literally every boat I call about has an offer or down payment pending....they last just a couple of days being listed. I have seen 3 different 17.5 Lowes with 90's on them between 2004 and 2007 with the basic factory options going for 11-13k here..........

I got extremely lucky last week and ended up buying a 2005 17.5ft with 92" beam and a 115hp Optimax for 9k. The bigger deal for me is the boat came rigged with 2k worth of trolling motors, and $2,600 worth of locators that I normally would never have bought for myself.

So I went back to check the boat out again. Its in pristine condition. Its only got 29 hrs on it. I listed the motor wrong. Its a 150 HP merc optimax saltwater. Comes with hydraulic steering and a bimni top. Its in land locked Kansas.

That sounds like a pretty nice setup. It should flat FLY with a 150.

i heard it run yesterday, sounds very crisp, next step is to take it for a ride and do some negotiations. but i would like a baseline. searched many comparable boats but the brands range from Lund, Sylvan, and Fisher that are in that range.

No offense, but you might as well be getting the price from a Ouija board. Obviously your best bet is to try and find out what similar boats have sold for recently, and the closer to your location the better. But as far as NADA, the information you can look up from them for free online is worthless.
