Carolinas, Georgia, you would have to pretty much have to be coastal, with a 24'. north of Atlanta, but who wants to live in that traffic.

Too bad that you gave up on Florida!

Seems to me that the Jacksonville area would have been a possibility...you have the St. John's river, and the Atlantic. Maybe tashasdaddy can correct me, if I am wrong?

Happy boating!

I saw a river on Wednesday. I hear it runs from central Minnesota to the Gulf of Mexico. I bet it runs by Arkansas, Mississippi, Missouri, and Tennessee. Should be boatable 12 months a year.

The lake Norman area near charlotte nc may be worth a look. Its large but its hard to say if you would have 9 months of mild weather. 7 to eight is more like it.

Chesapeake Bay! Might not meet your 9 months criteria, unless you like some brisk days. Many boats 24' and much bigger on the bay. The Upper Chesapeake is 99% salt free. It would take a lifetime to explore every river and trib.

Probably too cold for you, but the mighty Chesapeake is the best body of water for boating in the US, IMO.

Well, you must be confusing "clear water" with "nice" water. If the boating in Florida isn't good enough for you, then nothing will be.
