115 Mercury 6 cyl. 80' (Distributor ign. sys)<br /><br />Last time I took her out I noticed the rev counter sitting at 4000 rmp. Started her up and accelerated. the needle counts from 4000 onwards, but not past 6000 as this is the counters limit. Its a Quicksilver (black) rpm counter. When I stop her the needle goes back to 4000. I opened the gauge and the needle moves freely, put back together and it jumps straight to 4000 when started.<br /><br />Is it the gauge itself? Any checks I can run?<br /><br />The gauge is getting 12+ and 12-, obviouly also something from th sender cable.<br /><br />Thanks in advance
