Rev Limiter help

Hello I'm new here hoping someone can help.I've got a 2005 mercury2 stroke 115 spark problem at hire rpm changed stator , trigger and rectifire can someone tell me what wire I can unplug on the rev limiter to take it out of the system to see if it is faulty or how to trouble shoot the limiter it seem that if I unplug the black and yellow wire loose every thing work no normal don't want to hurt any other parts of the ignition system please help I'm at a loss

Yes know that they normally only have rev limiter on jet models but mine is a 115 classic saltwater and it has one I've checked and double check checked

Looking at the serv manual, some do and some don't. If the don'ts don's have one and work just fine (my 90 triple didn't) why would the haves not work just fine without it.....assuming you don't have an over rev problem. On over reving, I had my 7k rpm Quicksilver OEM tach pegged for a minute or two with my 90 on a run away situation once.....trouble shooting and got the timing too far ahead. That was 5 years ago and it ran another 3 of that for me and I guess it's still running for the current owner....no gripes.
