While the east coast of the US got away with minor damage from hurricane EARL, it sounds as he laid a smack down on Nova Scotia Canada.
Powers out in many places, trees down, and 1 reported death.

I'm in New Brunswick till tomorrow and was supposed to be in direct line but it swung east shortly before it got to us. Halifax is pretty much recovered. A few trees down but the power is back on. The guy that died was due to stupidity more than the storm. If you were 61 and in the early stages of a tropical storm, would you attempt to swim out to your moored boat to re-secure the lines?
