I've read that you don't want to use reverse cycle heat somewhere below 45 - 55 degrees. Right now the water temp is 60 degrees so I'm closing in on that range.

How cold do people let the water get before you quit using it?

Last year I quit using it at 60 degrees to be safe, however this year I'd like to push it a little more if there isn't much chance of damage. The unit is original from 1995 so I also don't want to put to much stress on it. Unfortunately I don't have the paperwork with me on the exact model of the A/C unit.

I leave my 26' Cruisers Inc. on a lift and use it all winter long as a cabin. I installed one of these Cadet EnergyPlus 1600-Watt 120/240-Volt In-Wall Electric Wall Heater White-CEC163TW at The Home Depot and it works really well. No need to worry about having to winterize the reverse cycle ac each time in the fall. Actually, this little heater made the heat function on my ac system obsolete. When we need heat, we just set the thermostat to the desired temperature and let it go all weekend. It was easy to install and looks like it should have came with the boat.
