Reverse only

Hey guys so I have a 2000 crownline 238db with a Volvo 7.4lt so took it out today was driving fine going forward/backwards.. moved to a different section of the lake shut it off was fishing and started it back up to move it and it would only go in reverse even when you moved the handle forward it would go backwards…. And ideas!?

Is the shift cable moving where it is mounted on the engine?

Yea when you move the shifter forward/backwards the cable does move

Okay I think it might be my drive cable…?

That is what it appears to be. It might be possible to replace the cable without removing the drive.
Try to get a genuine Volvo service manual for your model.
