Thank you for the article. It reinforces what I've been attempting to get across. This document is very specific in that it talks of the ground "wire" and does not relate series and parallel wiring to how the "loads" are actually wired within the system. These are two distinctly separate circuit characteristics. Remember, your original statement very specifically says "gauges are wired in series." Substitute the word "lights" for "gauges" and then see if you still feel your statement makes sense! Try this: "Gauge ground terminals are interconnected using a series ground scheme." One may have followed that up with "The +12V and back-light circuit also use a series wiring scheme." Those statements now pertain specifically to the three wires, not the loads.
