Reversing controls for 1971 chrysler 55hp

I'm converting an old runabout to a centre console, and need to sort out the controls. Currently they are mounted on the starboard side of the boat, as is typical. If I re-use them on the side of the console, they'd be flipped around.

Can these be reversed? It's a single lever shift + throttle.

Or, do I have any aftermarket options I should consider?

All you need to do is remove the set screw that holds the control handle to the shaft, pull it off the splines, and reposition it 180 degrees. Then inside the control box remove the shift lever and flip it 180. You need to move the shift cable to the hole in the other side of the box. Throttle lever stays the same. That's it! 10 minute job.

Yes, that is the box I was writing about. When you reverse the movement, the decal will be upside-down. However, it can be removed if you are careful.

Now, if you want to mount it on a center console with the cables exiting from the box toward the front of the boat, you leave the control handle where it is but still rotate the shift arm inside 180. This reverses the direction of throw so what used to be reverse is now forward and the decal on the control box will be upright. Still a simple job!
