I have the opportunity to buy a brand new one from Local Sporting good store.

Its a 500 Penn Jismaster that made in the USA the sides are Black! Its only $69.00 Brand new and There is no Box maybe So I can prob get an extra 20-5% off if I haggle down the price good.

I wanted to know any Info on these reals that were made in USA. What year would this be?

Cause the new in 500L box was made In China and was a few oZ lighter!!

The Usa made one was nice and Beefy with some weight to it.

Had several when I was younger fishing out of socal.
Good multipurpose reel.
Suggest looking up after market drag washers to improve the drag.
Also..take emery cloth or fine sandpaper and go over the ends of the spool to improve casting.
