I just wanted to say thanks to @racerone for the fuel pump clues in my previous thread about this motor. I found the fuel pump kit on Amazon for about $15 and a nice little 3 gallon external tank. Now that I've got this thing running, I plan on getting some good use out of it!

It is rewarding to get one of these running. They are smooth & sweet little motors. Dad bought one brand new like yours, a 1967 3-horse folding weedless, and didn't even use it until it was 8 years old. The weedless skeg works like a charm in the weeds.

The pressed aluminum fuel tank on the 1952-67 Johnson 3s are very dent prone. Evinrudes with the cast tank aren't as fragile.
