rewire merc 500

Ok so all the wires going to the motor are shot. Can I just run new wires from a terminal strip to the motor and then from controll box to the terminal strip? Im not looking to make this a show boat. Just need it to work and be dependable. Oh and all the new wires from the terminal strip to the motor will be run through some 3/4 heater hose to protect them.

If you've got enough cable coming out of the control box, you could make it into an engine harness and skip the terminal block:

Dont have enought good wire from the control box for that. I think it's going to be crip, solder and heat shrink tube. 4ga welding wire for my battery cables.This boat is only going to see fresh water from now on. This way I can get it done fast and see if the motor will even run. I don't want to put much into this as I might need to repower it anyway.

Ok I got it rewired today and it ran. Now to find a fuel pump kit and impeller. Any one know where to look?
