have an 89' 60 hp evinrude would like to adjust properly but I have no Idea how to adjust for that. I recently cleaned out the carbs boat runs like a champ but I cant get the idle adjusted rite or at least it wont stay running at 750 rpm's maybe it's to lean what do yall think. I had it adjusted to 1000 rpms that was fine somehow the idle slowed down now it will kill at idle if I idle for long periods of time. I know which screws to turn I just don't know how to go about performing this task.

the screws were set at the factory, if you have messed with them you need the manual, to tell you how to properly reset them. you have fixed jets on that motor, they have to be clean, the link n sinc, has to be set correctly for it to idle properly. the idle speed stop screw has to be set correctly.

the screws are adjustable there is a brass nut with the screws inside of them on the top left if your facing the carbs. I read my service manual it was not much help in this regard. The motor that I have may have some diferent features on it a mechanic told me that it was a commercial grade motor? He was judging by the head on it I don't know maybe yall can elaborate.
