one of the key members from pink floyd passed away from a short bout with cancer at the age of 65 years today.....

richard was a big part of the legendary rock band called pink floyd....

pink floyds "dark side of the moon" stayed on billboards top 200 albums for longer than any other album in history....when i last saw that chart in the 90's it had been on over 630 weeks.

with the exception of the beatles, and elvis.....very few rock "super groups" have ever actually had mega albums....
albums that have had monster sales and airplay of more than 5 songs per album.......albums produced over 20 years and have had continuious airplay of all the songs on the album

...for example hotel califorina by the eagles......or supertramps crime of the century......fleetwood mac's roumors.

pink floyd had two.........dark side of the moon and the wall.

thank you for the great work richard......you will be missed........and richard....enjoy the great gig in the sky

The time is gone, the song is over...
Yeah, RIP Richard.

"Dark Side of the Moon" was my favorite album in my late teens/early 20's. Some people think of Pink Floyd as just psychedelic "stoner" music, but "Dark Side", along with "The Wall" "Animals" and "Wish You Were Here" had songs with a lot of hard-edged social and political commentary. Those albums really stand the test of time in terms of overall quality. Plus, they sound awesome with headphones on!

Richard is now with Syd Barrett, and they're waiting for Roger Waters and David Gilmour while working on their latest album, which will last....forever. God Bless
