richening idle mixture

another question for you guys which way do you turn the idle mixture screw to richen the mixture my manual just says run it richer rather tha leaner thanks again mick

Counter clockwise, about an eighth of a turn.

Opening it more would make it richer.<br />Not knowing what engine you talk about,you probably need to go counter clockwise.

Thanks for the quick replies it is on my merc classic 50 (1987) as i need to set up the idle mick
