Has anybody out there ever tried filling the live wells to improve the ride in rough water. I have a 175 stinger with two wells. Here in North Carolina the season doesn't end and the stripers and choppy water is coming.
Have ran through a couple of storms this summer and the ride was managable but rough.
Each well holds 23 gal. so a total of 46 gal is a lot of weight. Wonder wether to fill the bow or stern or both or to partial fill both. Any comments welcomed as there is a lot of of different possiblilties.

On another note about the build quality of Lowe boats.
We were coming in after dark Tuesday night and ran over an unknown size log-wood at full plane.
From what we felt in the boat it must have looked like a jet ski commerical from outside the boat.
Anyway pulled the boat Saturday night for weekly cleaning and not a mark on the bottom. Only knocked the depth finder transducer and speedo sensor out of alignment.

Re: ride quality

Not sure what to tell you on filling the livewells up, I guess it boils down to trial and error? Start out with a few gallons first in each and then go from there.
Glad to hear you Lowe didn't have a mark on it, I have never hit anything yet(touch wood!) but feel pretty confident with my boat if I ever do. I am pretty happy with the construction, seems really solid to me and I think they can take a fair bit of abuse..........Irv964
