I'm in the middle of rigging this boat and have a few questions:
1) the tilt/trim wiring diagram has a buzzer inline with the ignition switch. What's the purpose of this buzzer?
2) is there a pitot tube for speedometer on the engine?
3) anyone know where to find the right wiring diagram for this? I found up to 1989 on the maxrules website, but nothing for the 93.
4) what does an hour meter hook up to?

Fyi, I'm mounting the tilt/trim gauge because otherwise there would be a hole in the dashboard, and I can't stand non-working things.

Just seen your post now....

Hopefully, below feedback helps.

I'm in the middle of rigging this boat and have a few questions:

1) the tilt/trim wiring diagram has a buzzer inline with the ignition switch. What's the purpose of this buzzer?

> Using this inline alarm configuration, I would assume the Alarm would sound each time the Tilt or Trim position is changed. Just like a truck in "R" gear has a backup / reverse alarm. Some folks like this "moving item" warning alarm sound and other's don't. IMO, I don't like backup alarms on vehicles either. Yes, In motion sound to give a heads up. But in my simple world, this sound would muffle anyone yelling - if they were caught in its moving parts. Thus, why my Johnson tilt/trim system doesn't have an active alarm.

2) is there a pitot tube for speedometer on the engine?

> My Bayliner boat has a tube (vacuum) speedometer desigh but NO pitot `fitting` on its newly installed Johnson 115 engine. In future, I plan to buy / install a Pitot device (for its transom area). Thus, activating its MPH gauge. For now, I'll use its dash mounted Fishfinder / GPS unit's MPH number instead. IMO, the engine RPM gauge is much more important than a MPH gauge.
Note: I think iboats online store sells plastic pitot device at reasonable price.

3) anyone know where to find the right wiring diagram for this? I found up to 1989 on the maxrules website, but nothing for the 93.

> I don't have info on this one. Hopefully, you can find lots a wiring diagram using Google Search - Images selections.

4) what does an hour meter hook up to?

> Recommend connecting "hour meter" to its Ignition key's Accessory activation wire. Or if extra terminal on its fuse block, use this fused wire instead. re: If key is ON and Fuse Block is active, assume engine is also running. Thus, its hour usage clock is working as well.

Hope this helps.

Thank you! It's been a while since I posted this so I figured out most of what I needed:

1) I figured out that the diagram actually shows a ground that is common between the buzzer and the tilt/trim. Sometimes it takes a while for things to click and make sense for me.

2) I never found a pitot location on this engine, so I ran a new pitot and it works great.

3) The older wiring diagrams work fine for this engine. This is the one that I have been using: http://www.justanswer.com/boat/3qf02-ii-kike-know-wiring-diagram-wire-color-new.html

4) Thanks for the information.
