Hi all, After marrying my engine to my Hydrostream, I was wondering what most would do....I have twin temp gauges in the console but only one sending unit in the head. (stock) and the other alarm swith (stock). Is there anything to gain and can it be done by pulling the alarm switch and replacing it with a second temp gauge sending unit?

If your not paying attention to your guage at least you would have an audible overheat alarm(that is the switch your refering to?) I wouldn't change it.

Throw one of the temp guages away and install a water pressure guage as it is instant reading, shows wear on impeller, can see poppet and t-stat opening /closing and aids in engine set-up height. Also install a red LED (radioshack) in dash above steering wheel and tie to overheat alarm as this will get your attention if you cant hear alarm over engine/wind noise.
