I have twin 1997 Yamaha 200 SWS II carbed engines, with 200 hours each. Half of those hours were put on by me over the last 1.5 years. I have not decarbed the engines since I have owned them and I have to assume that the previous did not either. So, time to do it now.

I am going to Yamaha Ringfree, but I don't know how much to use for the shock treatment. The instructions say 2 oz. / gallon and use 64 gallons per engine. Well, this is 256 oz. (8 quarts!) which is a couple of hundred dollars! If this is necessary, so be it. But, my Yamaha mechanic says I can get by with 10 gallons (I am assuming per engine).

Comments?

Rodbolt, are you out there?

Thanks in advance...
