Re: rinker 192 owners

From your photo, it looks to me like the drain hole (and transducer) are offset to port.

Re: rinker 192 owners

Ya Your right
I looked at some of the pics again close up
I guess I had even made a couple pencil marks showing the difference
looks about the size of the drainbungs screw head > 1/4"
center line of the drainbung & the true center of the transom were off a bit
I must have smacked my head harder than i thought on the swimplatform when i was crawling around back there with a drill in my hand .

I vow to never work on my boat sober ever again .
I will leave it up to Capt. Morgan to do the real thinkin .

Going to try it the way it is & see what happens ?
Runnin out of summer up here & cant get back to cottage
till end of month anyway , kids go back to school (Yah)
So I will have lots of "ME TIME" to "Play with My Tabs" .
Will report back .

Re: rinker 192 owners

I have a 2009 Rinker 192 BR that I recently installed the smart tabs on as well. When i talked to the reseller, they suggested i go with the ST1290-80 model. I have teh 4.3L Mercruiser which i believe they rate at 220HP. I also have a SS 19pitch high five prop installed as well i ordered the boat with the Extended swim platform. I also have a samson tower installed (which is rather heavy) Last year i was having trouble with getting the boat to plane, this year, no problem with that, but the trim tabs will almost toss the boat from port to starboard and vice versa depending upon load etc. I originally installed them at the 25 degrees as per the manual, but have since moved them way back, to close to 10 -12 degrees. I can still feel them push the boat but not the way they did before. My question is, are these too much tab for this boat? Should i replace them with the SX model? I have attached a couple photos.

Re: rinker 192 owners

I have an 03 192 that runs great with a 4.3 mpi but it lists to the left with the trim down. Will the trim tabs correct this? Once it is on plane it balances out great and with a 3 blade 19 pitch on smooth water I can hit 50 pretty easy. Any input would be appericated.

Thanks

I'm considering installing the SX smart trim tabs. I have a 08 Rinker 192 captiva, with a Volvo 4.3 GXi (225 hp). What size or model number would be adequate for this boat. I find that it takes too long to get on plane if no one is in the bow.

I talked to a guy from smart tabs today and he recomends the sx9510-60. The 60 lb actuators. What type of problems are you having? My boat lists to the left until it is on plane.

Re: rinker 192 owners

Not sure how much action you will get on this, the thread is pretty old.

I have expierenced the left list on mine. I increased tab presssure on the left to the 2nd hole from the transom and left the right one at three. That seemed to help some.
I really think it is a weight distribution issue. That is definatly the heavy side of the boat. Batt, trim pump ect over there most storage on that side too.

Try to keep the load balanced and even. With just two in the boat there is no list

I am running OEM 14x21 alum three blade.

Re: rinker 192 owners

Just get the SX 60lbs ones. I have these on mine and are what you want. FYI I had broken the link on one of the acuators last month & had to remove the Tabs while I waited for replacement parts . It was my own fault , I was cleaning the boat & lifted the left Tab & it snapped . Anyhoo "The boat Sucks" was the comment from the New Skipper (My Son ) & I had to agree once you tryem its nite & day ...

Re: rinker 192 owners

I am new to boating and purchased a 2002 Rinker 192. We love it, but at times it does seem to lean to the left when acceleration is happening. Is this normal.

thanks,
